Adam Brody does a great job with the funny, quick hitting humor, playing off the over-the-top always funny nemesis played by Rob Huebel.

What they discover is that you don't just play Jumanji - you must survive it. Several times I could see a joke being set up but then it never happened. It was worth it just to see them all develop their characters in the game. It was totally different from the first, updated to reflect the times, which was a refreshing surprise. Nick Jonas was probably the weakest link, in terms of acting, but held his own against a confident, powerhouse cast. Dare I say it, even better than the original! I kept watching and thinking it was going to get better but it did not. I saw the trailer and really wanted to see this at the movies, but just never got to it. The entire cast had great chemistry. Btw, he is in amazing shape for any age, but the fact that he is 53 is nuts! Bobby Canavale was a creepy and sadistic antagonist and was present just enough to keep viewers on the edges of their seats without taking focus away from the chemistry of the main cast.

I don't want to include any spoilers but suffice it to say the timeline was similar to the first movie character believes he's been gone for a few months when it's actually been 20 years. Dwayne Johnson did a great teenager impersonation.
